#FridayFacts. What they think doesn't matter most

We often spend considerable time worrying about what others think of us. Their opinions, or imagined opinions, shape and distort our lives. We find ourselves trying to do the impossible by trying to please everybody all the time. Or, we go to the opposite extreme and get plunged into despondency as we realise that not all are pleased with us at all.

What others think of us matters, but it doesn't matter most. After all, there are critical people everywhere, always wanting to pull others down a peg or two to make themselves feel better.

I'm reminding myself today to stop letting others judge me so harshly, and just as importantly, to cease being my own worst critic. It's only those who really love me whose opinion counts.
