#Fridayfacts Come as you are

Often we think that we need some sort of qualification to talk to a mate about his mental health. And while a quick course or some type of mental health first aid training might help, I’d suggest that the focus needs to be more on availability than ability. We can learn on job, so to speak.

You see, we can be useful to a friend in need without having to wait to be ready for it- we don’t have to wait till we get ‘issues’ sorted out. For most of us, if we did, that would mean waiting forever!

So, today I’m reminding myself that when it comes to talking to a mate, we can come as we are… broken and weak, because in truths, that’s what we all are… regardless of whether we admit it.
