#FRIDAYFACTS There's not always joy in the season.

I would much prefer that words like this were never said or never needed to be said. How much preferable it would be if our lives were just one long festive season, that all would be well all the time... and particularly at this time of the year

For most of us, it is not as if pain and sorrow are constant or even the primary theme of what is said to be the happiest time of the year, but it can be part of the tapestry of Christmas that we mustn’t ignore. In fact, it can be dangerous to gloss over sorrow and pain and pretend that it doesn’t exist while others around dance with joy.
I'm reminding myself today to forget the advice about 'better not crying, and better not pouting. Rather I'm just going to be myself. And if Santa Clause sees me this way when he comes to town, that okay.
