#fridayfacts Redundancy has its perks

Losing your job can be one of the most traumatic events we experience, and it's a reality more people are facing. Since the start of Covid over ¼ million folks have lost their job, not the mention the millions that have been stood down or had their hours cut.

And though, you might have hated your job, this was your livelihood. It is a big deal that it’s gone. So mourn- don’t pretend it’s not painful- I’ve been there myself and I know to it is. So, sit in your trackie-daks, eat cereal from the box. Watching Dr Phil- at least for a few days.

Then with the help of mate’s make the best of a bad situation. Exercise; go to the gym, take the dog for a walk, play with the kids, catch up with friends. Don’t lose sight of who you really are - which is more than a job title.

It might take while, but the one day you’ll be back working for the man. Make the most of the perks in the meantime.
